Writes Mr Tomos Fowler, Head of Cricket Performance and Mr Philip Davies, Director of Cricket
We are incredibly proud to announce that our school is currently the only school in the country still competing in four national cricket cup competitions: U15 National 40-Over Cup Semi-Final, U15 National T20 Cup Regional Finals Day, U17 National 35-Over Cup Quarter Final, U18 National T20 Cup Regional Final.
This is a truly outstanding achievement and a testament to the dedication, commitment, and resilience shown by our students throughout the year. These successes have not happened by chance. They are the result of a long winter of hard work, training, preparation, and sacrifice from our players and coaches. The students have consistently demonstrated excellent attitudes, balancing their academic responsibilities alongside the demands of high-level sport. As we enter the final stages of these competitions over the next two weeks, we ask the whole school community to get behind our teams.
Please support, encourage, and congratulate these students whenever possible. They are representing the school with distinction and have put themselves in a position to achieve something truly special on the national stage. We wish all four squads the very best of luck and look forward to following their progress in the coming weeks.
A special mention should also go to our U14 team, who enjoyed an excellent cup run this season, reaching the Middlesex Cup semi-final. Despite a spirited performance, they were narrowly defeated by Hampton. The squad should be extremely proud of their achievements and the progress they have made throughout the year. We wish Hampton the very best of luck in the final and congratulate them on their success.
